About Me

Who Am I?

A'aeshah Alhakamy is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the Faculty of Computers and Information Technology (FCIT) at the University of Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Her educational journey was marked by a full scholarship that supported her pursuit of higher education in Computer Graphics, Visualization, and Imaging abroad. Throughout her career at the university, she has held numerous administrative roles including Chair of the Computer Science Department for the Female Section, Deputy Supervisor of the Data Governance Unit, Data Management Lead, Academic Affairs Supervisor, Deputy Director of the Industrial Innovation and Robotics Center (IIRC), Researcher at the Artificial Intelligence and Sensing Technologies (AIST) Center, and Member of the Permanent Supervisory Committee for Social Responsibility.

A'aeshah earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2020 from Purdue University, Indianapolis , under the mentorship of Professor Mihran Tuceryan. She also holds an M.Sc. in Computer and Information Science from the Purdue School of Science (2016) and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Taibah University, Medina, Saudi Arabia (2005).

During her time at Indiana University-Purdue University, she was a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Computer and Information Science (Fall 2017) and a Graduate Research Assistant at the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering in the Human-Centered Computing Department. Under Professor Francesco Cafaro, she worked in the Data Lab on a project focused on "Aiding Reasoning about Correlation and Causation".

A'aeshah's research is primarily in the fields of

Computer Graphics (CG)

Computer Vision (CV)

Visualization & Imaging

eXtended Reality (XR)

Particularly Extended Reality; Interaction between the Virtual and Real Objects, Worlds; Human-Data Interaction and Embodied Interaction Systems with Data Visualization.
